As Vice President of Facilities, Matt is responsible for developing and leading facility operations strategy and teams for NBCU’s west coast studio operations. The portfolio consists of the NBCU studio lot, 10 Universal City Plaza class-A high rise and DreamWorks campus. Matt is responsible for enterprise wide strategic initiatives in the areas of Integrated Workplace Management Systems and Smart Building strategy. Matt leads the NBCU Critical Infrastructure Council, a group responsible for guiding decisions to assure high availability of NBCU’s workspace systems and services. Prior to joining NBCU, Matt served as the Director of Maintenance & Energy Services at the California Institute of Technology. While at Caltech Matt lead the Institute’s Facilities transformation project and managed one of the nation’s premier energy efficiency programs integrating smart building technologies with operations. Matt began his career at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a facilities engineer, quickly becoming the NASA JPL Energy Manager responsible for Energy Savings Performance Contracts and Building Automation Controls for flight hardware research facilities. Matt holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University Pomona is a certified Facilities Professional through APPA and is active in IFMA and BOMA professional associations.
